Conventional calibration methods often require multiple feedback contacts, long measuring sections and considerable setup time. The RZTEC Speedbox II simplifies this process significantly. Using two high-precision optical sensors spaced 100 mm apart, vehicle speed can be measured directly on the layout. Only a short straight track section is required for accurate results. The Speedbox connects directly to a PC via USB and requires no additional power supply. No dedicated calibration track is necessary. Measurements can be performed directly on the existing layout, reducing calibration time to approximately 10 minutes per vehicle. The integrated display shows speed and train length directly on the device. Alternatively, all measurement data can be monitored conveniently through the included software on a PC.
